All registered patients now have a named allocated GP. If you do not know who this is you can ask at reception when you are next visiting or contact the surgery to find out.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. This is required in the interests of the greater public accountability recognising GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public.
The average pay for GPs working in the Axbridge and Wedmore Medical Practice in the last financial year was £39,045 before tax and national insurance. This is for 2 full time GP’s 5 part time GPs and 1 locum GP (who worked in the practice for more than six months).
This figure reflects income for provision of core NHS services. Further income is also received for providing other non-compulsory NHS services.
